Donald John MacInnes has been Chief Executive of Scotland Europa since 1998, based in Brussels and with an office in Glasgow too. Scotland Europa promotes the policy and financial interests of its sixty Scottish member organisations within the European Union (the Parliament, Commission and Council). He is also responsible for European Union projects on behalf of Scottish Enterprise, and is a director of SDI (Scottish Development International).

Now living between Brussels and Fife, Donald John was brought up in Scarp, Harris. A trustee of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, he is often to be seen sailing between the Clyde and the Western Isles in an old green trawler named the Elinda.
