Radio Commissioning Round

MG ALBA would welcome the submission of programme ideas for radio broadcast on community, regional and national radio, from media production companies.

Programme Ideas
Submission of programme ideas should state which strand they refer to in this round. They should include a brief creative summary, details of key talent and a budget. They should not exceed one A4 page per idea. The opportunity to develop these summaries may be given through interviews with applicants.

In this round we will welcome programme ideas for:

  1. Drama – a serial or a one hour dramatisation of an existing Gaelic work of fiction. This drama should be modern or contemporary in tone and target a demographic under 40.
  2. Drama/documentary – a half-hour biographical dramatisation of the life of someone of interest to the Gaelic community.
  3. Comedy - a weekly (20 weeks) 10-15 minute show based on topical humour and satire.


Deadline for programme ideas – 5th October, 2010 at 1pm.
Deadline for MG ALBA decisions – 5th November, 2010.

MG ALBA does not envisage a further Radio Commissioning Round during 2010.
