Seachd - The Inaccessible Pinnacle

Highly acclaimed Gaelic feature film Seachd - The Inaccessible Pinnacle will have its television premiere on BBC ALBA at 21:30 on Christmas Day.

The film was shot on the Isle of Skye in 2006 and features stand-out performances from Pàdruig Moireasdan and Aonghas Pàdraig Caimbeul, who received a BAFTA nomination for his role.  Seachd also received Best Film and Best Screenplay BAFTA nominations and has screened in over twenty countries worldwide, including a number of prestigious film festivals in Rome, Edinburgh, Vancouver and Seattle.

Financed by MG ALBA, Scottish Screen, BBC Scotland and Glasgow Film Office, Seachd was produced for Young Films by Christopher Young.

Christopher Young said: “I’m thrilled that Seachd will be broadcast on BBC ALBA on Christmas Day.  The channel has recognised the importance of the film in giving it such a prime slot.  For those who have seen the film, the story begins on Christmas Eve – it really is the perfect slot for what is a rich, family film.”

Seachd - The Inaccessible Pinnacle was written by Jo Cockwell, Iain Finlay MacLeòid, Ishbel MacDonald, Simon Miller and Aonghas MacNeacail, directed by Simon Miller, and produced by Christopher Young.
