COUNTRY MUSIC RETURNS TO BBC ALBA WITH EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE FROM THE CAITHNESS COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL
Country music fans will be able to tune in to performances from acclaimed music artists, as BBC ALBA brings viewers the best of the action from this year’s Northern Nashville Caithness Country Music Festival.

BBC ALBA is delighted to cover the fourth annual Caithness Country Music Festival as part of its Ceòl Country series which has been produced for the channel by mneTV.
Ceòl Country from Caithness will commence on Tuesday 20 September at 9pm with weekly hour long programmes being broadcast every Tuesday over the subsequent three weeks, with repeats each following Sunday at 9pm.
The festival continued to gained world-wide support this year due to the range of national and international country music stars that performed over the Easter weekend in Halkirk.
Programme presenter, Anne Morrison will bring viewers musical highlights from this year’s performances throughout the three dedicated Caithness Music Festival programmes in the Ceòl Country series.
Among the artists showcased are local Caithness band Slange Ava, award winning Highland band The Jacks, Irish Country Music performer Dominic Kirwan, performer Sharon Nixon from Derry, plus many international acts including Gene Watson from Texas, American country band Highway 101, Gail Davies and Ron Williams both from Nashville Tennessee and Canadian band South Mountain.
In addition to the live music coverage, Anne Morrison travels to Texas to gain first-hand experience about the traditional country music scene that exists there, as well as joining record producer Justin Trevino in the studio. Anne is also treated to an exclusive acoustic performance from Landon Dodd, one of the rising stars in the Texas dancehall scene and spends time with veteran performer Tony Booth.
BBC ALBA's Ceòl Country series will also feature three dedicated programmes covering the Kelso Country and Western Music Festival being broadcast at 9pm on Tuesday 11 and 25 October and 1 November, with repeats also being shown each following Sunday at 9pm.
