DUNDEE V QUEEN OF THE SOUTH LIVE ON BBC ALBA
BBC ALBA will tomorrow night screen live coverage of new Dundee FC management team Gordon Chisholm and Billy Dodds’ first game in charge as they come up against their former club, Queen of the South.
The highly-anticipated clash from Dens Park continues BBC ALBA’s exclusive coverage of the IRN-BRU Scottish First Division before the end of the season. Hosted by sports anchor Calum Macaulay, the programme will begin at 7.40pm with kick-off at 7.45pm. The match will also be available live on BBC iPlayer.
The appointment of Gordon Chisholm as Dundee manager after the weekend departure of Jocky Scott is sure to provide added interest to the occasion. Chisholm’s departure from Queen of the South after nearly three years in charge will be met with sadness by the Dumfries side, especially after the highs of their Scottish Cup final appearance and European football under his guidance.
On the park, the game from Dens Park will be a vital encounter with both teams vying for the championship. Dundee are currently sitting top with a 10-point gap between them and Queen of the South but with the Dumfries side having two games in hand over Dundee, a win would put them within closer reach of the Dark Blues.
Matches between the two sides have been tight affairs this season, with Queen of the South having the upper hand after their victory in the first match in September. The last two games between the sides have ended in draws, with their most recent tussle in January finishing 1-1. Bob Harris scored inside six minutes for Queen of the South before Dundee hitman Leigh Griffiths levelled in the second half.
This match is the second instalment of a five-game package from the Scottish Football League to be shown on BBC ALBA before the end of the season. Following on from the Dundee v Queen of the South fixture, one further league match from the Scottish Football League will be broadcast in April before BBC ALBA presents exclusive coverage of the SFL1 play-off finals at the end of this season.
