BBC ALBA’S ELECTION DEBATE AND SPECIAL RESULTS PROGRAMME
DEASBAD AN TAGHAIDH 2010: THE ELECTION DEBATE
BBC ALBA will host its own election debate ‘Deasbad an Taghaidh 2010’ from BBC Scotland’s headquarters at Pacific Quay, Glasgow, which will see representatives of the main political parties discuss the electoral issues that matter to the public.
The panel of political party representatives will include Donald John MacSween (Labour), Angus Brendan MacNeil (SNP) and Bill Innes (Conservative).
A politically balanced audience will put their questions to the panel, under the expert chairmanship of BBC Gaidhlig presenter, Iain Maclean.
The one hour programme, in Gaelic with English language subtitles, will be broadcast at 9pm on Tuesday, May 4 with an audio repeat on Radio nan Gàidheal at 9am on Wednesday, May 5.
AN TAGHADH 2010 : ELECTION RESULTS AND ANALYSIS
On Friday May 7, BBC ALBA will present a special three-hour programme live from BBC’s Pacific Quay building. ‘An Taghadh 2010’ will take a look back at the highlights and outcome of the election and provide analysis of what it all means for communities around Scotland.
With reports from Stornoway to Inverness and Aberdeen, from Glasgow and Edinburgh to the Borders, the programme will look at the outcome for all of Scotland.
The results in England will be crucially important and political analysis from experts in London will consider the wider UK context. Presented by Iain Maclean and Angela Maclean, ‘An Taghadh 2010’ promises a lively and colourful catch up on one of the most interesting elections for many years.
The programme will be broadcast in Gaelic from 5.30pm - 8.30pm on Friday, May 7.
