BBC ALBA HOGMANAY SHOW – LIVE FROM OBAN

BBC ALBA is delighted to announce details of this year’s Hogmanay Show which will be broadcast live to television and radio audiences from Oban.
Worldwide audiences will also be able to watch the programme streamed live as well as it being available on demand for the next 24 hours - all via the website, www.bbcalba.co.uk.
The audience at the Argyllshire Gathering Halls will celebrate in style as they welcome in the New Year with the very best in music, comedy and entertainment.
The ninety minute Hogmanay Show, Bliadhna Mhath Ùr will be presented by the inimitable duo of Tony Kearney and Morag MacDonald who will be in the best of company with a superb line-up of acclaimed Gaelic performers, including Argyllshire's own Karen Matheson and Donald Shaw.
Top folk band Daimh, two of the World’s top piper’s Angus MacColl and Stuart Liddell, this year’s Mod Gold Medallists, Darren MacLean and Sineag MacIntyre, as well as renowned Gaelic singer and song-writer Anne Lorne Gillies, will also be performing. And if that is not enough, there will be comedy with a special appearance from Gaeldom’s one and only Seasaidh Lexy.

Bliadhna Mhath Ùr is being produced for BBC ALBA by Bees Nees Media and will be transmitted on Thursday 31st December 2009 at 11.30pm with a live radio simulcast on Radio Nan Gàidheal. Bliadhna Mhath Ùr will have a repeat transmission on BBC ALBA on 1st January 2010 at 16.20pm.
