LOCAL DUNDEE BAND – PEG AND THE BOUFFANTS - PERFORM ON BBC’S RAPAL
RAPAL TV - PEG & THE BOUFFANTS
Wednesday 7 October at 10pm on BBC ALBA
Local Dundee band, Peg and the Bouffants will be appearing on Rapal, BBC ALBA’s popular music television programme and radio show on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal.
Ska meets RnB meets Britpop! That's how some have described the inspired sound of Peg and the Bouffants from Dundee, the band who are in session in the studio.
Peg and the Bouffants were formed in early 2007 by Janine Hogan and Kirsty Harris, two best mates from Dryburgh in Dundee who bonded over a love of music and writing songs. They first got Peg, a local legend, to play Guitar for them and set about writing songs influenced by their love of R'n'B, Ska and Britpop.
They next recruited Calum Cummins and Jamie Brown from local band the Hoffs to play saxophone and bass, and when drummer Jaq Inglis joined in December 2007 the line up was complete. Since then the band have supported the likes of Ska legends The Beat and Bad Manners, as well as more contemporary acts such as Sonic Boom Six and Bombskare.
With a growing fan base, a reputation as an excellent live act and with a set of catchy, up-beat tunes under their belts, Peg and the Bouffants are not to be missed.
This programme on Rapal will also follow presenter Emma MacInnes looking behind the scenes at T in the Park and we hear a new Gaelic song from singer songwriter, Donald MacDonald from Contin near Strathpeffer.
Rapal featuring Peg and the Bouffants will be broadcast on BBC ALBA on Wednesday 7 October at 10pm.
