MAGNERS LEAGUE CLASH - ULSTER V EDINBURGH - LIVE ON BBC ALBA
Ulster v Edinburgh
BBC ALBA – Friday 17th September 20:00
BBC ALBA’s live coverage of Magners League rugby continues this week as Edinburgh travel to Ravenhill to face Ulster.
Coverage of the Edinburgh match will begin this Friday at 8:00pm and will be presented by Colin MacLeod. Also joining the studio team will be Edinburgh centre Nick De Luca, who sits out the game through injury.
The match itself will begin at 8.05pm, with commentary courtesy of Hugh Dan MacLennan and Donald A. Smith.
The programme will also include a package of news and interviews, including a look at "Edinburgh's Iron Man" competition, a series of challenges run by the Edinburgh squad in the gym and on the playing field throughout the season to ascertain who will be crowned "Edinburgh's Iron Man."
The team will also catch up with Alison MacDonald from the Scottish Women’s rugby side, who has just returned from the World Cup in England. Alison speaks at a Scotland team training session about the importance of her involvement with the national side.
Edinburgh go into the Ulster clash looking for their first win of the campaign after defeats to Cardiff Blues and Munster. However, Rob Moffat’s side boast a good league record at Ravenhill, winning on two of their last three league visits. They’ll be hoping to continue this record on Friday and avenge the defeat from their last meeting with Ulster in April, when the away side triumphed 37-25 at Murrayfield.
BBC ALBA has signed an exclusive deal to show live Magners League rugby in Scotland for the next four years. The channel is committed to showing at least eight Edinburgh or Glasgow home matches per season, and has teamed up with Irish, Welsh and Italian broadcasters to also provide live coverage of selected away matches for both sides.
